Focus 2
Focus 2 is an online career and education planning system. It combines self-assessment, major and career exploration, and decision making into one comprehensive program. To create your Focus 2 account, click here: Focus 2. Use our access code: Cougars.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) assessment is the most widely used personality assessment in the world. Based on Carl Jung's theory of psychological types, the MBTI® is a self-report, computer-based questionnaire that measures an individual's interests and preferences. Students will receive a personalized, written report detailing their test results and providing further analysis. Together, the student and an SCC career counselor will use this information to explore vocational interests and career options that may compliment the student's MBTI® type.
Strong Interest Inventory
The most widely used career planning instrument in the world, the Strong Interest Inventory® is an in-depth assessment of an individual's interests among a broad range of occupations, work, leisure activities and educational subjects. This instrument is based on the idea that individuals are more satisfied and productive when they work in jobs or at tasks that they find interesting and when they work with people whose interests are similar to their own. Students will receive a personalized, written report that provides analysis of the results and identifies optimum career choices based on assessed interests. Together, the student and an SCC career counselor will use this information to further explore vocational interests and career options.

Completing these tests is only the beginning, of course. Your career counselor will help you to interpret the results, and then review lists of careers that match. You'll be given various resources so you can research information about majors and careers, and after researching potential careers, we can help you shadow a professional.

Career counseling is free for currently enrolled SCC students and alumni. This service is also available for non-SCC students for a fee of $75. Appointments with non-SCC students will be conducted during non-peak student services time periods.

To schedule an appointment with an SCC career counselor, please use Handshake, email careerservices@stchas.edu, or call 636-922-8244. Our office is located in the SCC Main building, 1200 suite.
