ART

Visualize yourself in a creative, fulfilling career.

SCC provides a dynamic learning experience in the visual arts to prepare students for careers and four-year degrees in art and design.

Develop your skills for professional practice, from drawing and photography, to sculpture, animation, and video. You’ll also learn what it takes to prepare your work for public exhibitions.

An Associate of Fine Arts in Studio Art for Graphic Design will give you the foundation to pursue many creative careers, from a gallery artist to an illustrator, fashion designer, or ceramicist. But the critical thinking, observational and analytical skills you develop will position you for success in any profession.

Students will be able to:

  • Apply the techniques and processes of discovery in studio art and design
  • Understand principles of artistic and design theory, demonstrating knowledge of past and present works of art from diverse methods and cultures

  • Demonstrate a strong skill base in critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, analysis, observation, and organization
