The Associate of Applied Science degree in Emergency Medical Science (EMS) is a completion degree that allows students to enhance their current, valid paramedic license. This A.A.S. supports paramedics seeking promotion within the fire & EMS industries. The program is designed to develop communication and critical-thinking skills.

Program Information
SCC grants 30 credit hours toward the A.A.S. in Emergency Medical Science for students who submit proof of passing the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Exam for paramedics. These credit hours will be applied once all general education courses have been completed. Students may begin taking the general education courses required for the A.A.S. at SCC at any time.
The Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Emergency Medical Science is the result of formal agreements between St. Charles Community College (SCC) and Respond Right EMS Academy (REMSA), as well as an agreement between SCC and St. Charles County Ambulance District (SCCAD).
