What Is the Bookkeeper Certificate Program? (Continuing Education)

The SCC Bookkeeper Certificate can help you get started on a new career or upgrade your current job skills as a Bookkeeper. Classes are taught by professionals emphasizing real-world skills that can be immediately applied to the workplace.

Required courses (3):

  • Accounting Boot Camp
  • QuickBooks (Part 1 & Part 2)
  • Certified Bookkeeper

Alternatively Take For Traditional College Credit:

ACT 125 Certified Bookkeeper (3)
Prerequisites: ACT 110

Coursework will lead to national certification with the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB). The AIPB Certification is a high professional standard for bookkeepers and is the only national standard.

Occupational Outlook

Employment of bookkeeping, accounting, and auditing clerks is projected to grow 11% from 2012 to 2022 according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.  As the number of organizations increases and financial regulations become stricter, there will be greater demand for these workers to maintain books and provide accounting services.

Salary Outlook

In the state of Missouri, bookkeeping, accounting and auditing clerks earn an average of $37,230.
