History
History
History is "learning by inquiry." It is a systematic account of what has happened or might have happened in the life and development of a people, country, institution, etc. It deals with recording, analyzing, correlating and explaining past events.
Careers in History
History majors are well prepared to enter careers in government service, education, journalism, law, genealogy research, historic preservation and restoration work, and any of the many specialist positions in libraries and museums.
A graduate with a bachelor's degree in this field might work:

- at a public radio or television station
- with the national park service
- in intelligence services
- in foreign service
- in state and municipal archives
- in local politics
With a master's or doctorate degree, teaching at a college or university is also an option.
