With most of a computer science degree from SCC under his belt, Hai Phan considered dropping out of school to pursue a career opportunity at LaunchCode. 

Hai decided to complete his degree after seeking guidance from his professor, Rex McKanry. “He even worked with me to make it possible to graduate in one semester,” said Hai. “Because of his help and care, I was able to graduate and get an even better opportunity.”

After graduating, Hai accepted a position at National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC). “I should add, the reason I knew and applied to NISC was because of Rex,” Hai said. “I loved my teachers at SCC. They always helped me in anyway they could.” 

Now that Hai has his associate degree, he said he plans to enjoy time with his family and continue his education in computer science. 

“I would recommend for everyone to finish their degree because it greatly helps them get the career they want and the correct pay they deserve,” he said.
