PROPOSITION COMMUNITY COLLEGE
The St. Charles Community College Board of Trustees has placed Proposition Community College, a no-tax increase bond issue, on the Aug. 4 ballot for residents of St. Charles County.
What Is Proposition Community College?
Proposition Community College is a $30 million no-tax increase bond issue that will support workforce readiness, STEM education, student services, and security at St. Charles Community College.
Workforce and Technical Training
Proposition Community College will help fund workforce and technical training, helping people to get work in our community and address employer needs in the area. The no-tax increase bond issue will help fund infrastructure, facilities and equipment.
Modernization and Expansion of STEM
Many of the science labs on campus are more than 25 years old. Proposition Community College will not only modernize the current spaces but also expand lab space on campus. State-of-the-art equipment will also be purchased to best prepare students for the future.
Comprehensive Student Services Facilities
Proposition Community College will help create a streamlined, modernized environment for student success. The first floor of the Administration Building will be renovated and transformed into a student-centric space focused on admissions, advising, financial aid, student wellness and more. Students will have a start-to-finish facility to create a simple, seamless intake process for admission.
Campus Safety Improvements
Safety of our students, faculty and staff is a top priority at St. Charles Community College. Proposition Community College will upgrade and expand our video surveillance capabilities, as well as provide additional funding for life-saving equipment and improvements for the Department of Public Safety on both campuses.
Proposition Community College Ballot Language
Shall the Board of Trustees of St. Charles Community College, St. Charles County, Missouri, be authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the amount not to exceed $30,000,000 for the purpose of modernizing and expanding facilities for workforce training, academic programs and support services and to enhance campus security? If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the College is estimated to remain unchanged from the current debt service levy of $.0440 per one hundred dollars assessed valuation of real and personal property.
