The goal of the Reading Program is to provide students with the skills to read and understand college-level materials as well as to develop a lifelong enjoyment of reading for information and entertainment.

The Reading Program consists of nine reading classes focused on specific reading needs of the diverse population of St. Charles Community College students.

The Reading Program offers five individual study classes: two focused on spelling and three classes in vocabulary. The three core reading classes included in the program are designed to increase reading skills and teach critical thinking abilities.
