What Is Art/Graphic Design Transfer Program?

This transfer program provides a dynamic learning experience in the visual arts in order to prepare students to transfer to four-year institutions to major in studio art or graphic design.

Art and graphic design graduates may enter fields ranging from the fine arts, a wide array of design areas, production, development, illustration and animation, advertising and broadcast or cinema.

Occupational Outlook

Because of the multitude of careers in this field, the outlook is varied. Positions that have a bright outlook and are expected to grow in the coming years are art appraiser, art restorer, exhibit designer, painter, set illustrator and Web art director.

Salary Outlook

In the state of Missouri, employees working in the art and design field earn a mean average of $49,580 per year, depending on education, experience and employer.

(This must include a minimum of 42 credit hours of General Education Courses.)

Per College policy Individual students may be required to take COL 101.

* Social and Behavioral Sciences:  Complete one Civics Course (HIS 101, HIS 102 or POL 101) and a minimum of 6 additional credits from at least 2 disciplines.

** Humanities and Fine Arts:  Complete nine credit hours from at least 2 disciplines.

*** Natural Sciences:  Complete a minimum of 7 credit hours from at least 2 disciplines, including one course with a lab component.

Check with transfer institution for foreign language requirement.  A Bachelor of Arts Degree may require 3 semesters of the same foreign language.  A Bachelor of Science does not usually require foreign language.
