Adult Education & Literacy

SCC coordinates a four-county program (St. Charles, Warren, Lincoln and Pike) to prepare people for their High School Equivalency and to  assist non-native speakers in gaining English proficiency.


English as a Second Language

Our free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes help non-native speakers improve English skills in reading, writing, speaking and understanding (listening), with a special focus on conversational skills for home and workplace literacy. Learn more about ESL classes, or call 636-922-8411.

High School Equivalency

Our free High School Equivalency (HSE) classes teach basic reading, math and writing skills, to prepare people to take the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) or to improve basic academic skills for college readiness or career advancement. Free day and evening classes are available.
