A Pre-College Experience located at the SCC Regional Workforce Innovation Center,
Wentzille
The Pathways of Industry: Summer Immersion Program gives you the chance to explore
real careers in machining, advanced manufacturing, circuitry, robotics, and other
high‑tech fields in a fast-paced, hands-on summer experience.
Across one immersive week, you’ll design and machine custom parts, 3D‑print your own
creations, wire simple circuits, build and launch a small rocket, and learn the basics
of drone operation. You’ll even craft your own sheet‑metal toolbox and try introductory
welding—using the same tools and gear professionals rely on.
Whether you’re planning a technical career or just love creating, building, and problem‑solving,
this program sparks innovation and shows what’s possible in today’s most exciting
industries.

Pathways of Industry is a pre-college immersive program open to youth ages 13 and
up who have an interest in learning about a career in the industrial trades. It is
a week of hands-on exploration where participants operate equipment, build skills,
and uncover future careers. Join the adventure today!

Family members, teachers, and friends are encouraged to attend the Final Day Open
House on Friday, July 17. Support our students as they demonstrate their skills and
share the projects tthat they created all week!
Location: This program will be held on the Regional Workforce Innovation Center on the SCC Innovation
West Campus at 2400 Interstate Dr., Wentzville, MO.
Safety is our top priority at our Pre-College program. Participants will have the
opportunity to use a variety of tools and equipment under the guidance of our experienced
staff team. Clear and strict safety procedures, along with proper use of tools and
equipment, will be taught and reinforced to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience
for everyone. We ask that all participants follow these safety and proper use guidelines
at all times. Please note that if a participant is unable to adhere to these procedures
or misuses any tools/equipment, they may be suspended or dismissed without a refund.

Pat Penning Director Regional
Workforce Innovation Center
Pat Penning serves as the Director of the Regional Workforce Innovation Center. With
a background in construction and more than twenty years of teaching experience, he
has been a leader in technical education since 2005. Pat is dedicated to developing
innovative learning opportunities that prepare students for high-demand careers and
strengthen the region's skilled workforce.
Roxanne Finneran Instructional Coordinator Welding
Roxanne Finneran has served as the Instructional Coordinator for Welding since 2022.
She holds degrees in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Management from Parks College
of St. Louis University, an A&P Aircraft Mechanic's License, and a B.A. in Organizational
Management. Roxanne also earned her Certified Welding Inspector license and brings
prior teaching experience from Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, Illinois.
Kristin Plucinski Instructional Coordinator Robotics, Mechatronics & Electronics
Kristin Plucinski serves as the Instructional Coordinator for Robotics, Mechatronics,
and Electronics. She holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. in Industrial
Management. Kristin leads hands-on courses in Automatic Systems Integration and Process
Controls and serves as faculty advisor for the Robotics and Additive Manufacturing
teams, recently guiding the 3D printing team to a top-four finish at the state level.
Jessie Skeen Student Support Specialist Regional Workforce Innovation
Center
Jessie Skeen serves as the Student Support Specialist at the Regional Workforce Innovation
Center, where she also teaches the Manufacturing Internship course. A graduate of
SCC with an MBA from Lindenwood University, she brings ten years of social services
experience and eight years of educational expertise to her role. Jessie is committed
to supporting students as they develop into the next generation of workforce professionals.
Hanna Sprenger Academic Advisor Regional Workforce Innovation
Center
Hanna Sprenger serves as the CTE Academic Advisor at the Regional Workforce Innovation
Center. She holds a B.S. in Hospitality Management, a B.A. in Spanish, and an M.A.
in TESOL. Hanna collaborates with the RWIC team to provide accurate academic guidance
and is recognized for building positive, student-centered advising relationships that
help students navigate their goals with clarity and confidence.
Kimberly Young Administrative Assistant Regional Workforce Innovation
Center
Kimberly Young serves as the Administrative Assistant at the Regional Workforce Innovation
Center. She is often the first point of contact for students, families, and visitors,
and plays a key role in ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly. Kimberly provides
essential support for summer trades programs and assists students, families, and instructors
throughout the season.
