Students YOU have helped: Meet Erin

With a passion for helping others, a dream to work in the medical field and a need to help support her family, Erin is changing careers and studying to become a nurse. She was inspired by her mother who also went back to school later in life to become a nurse.

 Erin is now surrounded by friends and family in the nursing profession who are encouraging her and ready to help her if needed.

 While she is still considering what area of nursing to specialize in, she currently is working toward an associate degree in nursing. Her plans are to begin her career in nursing and then eventually continue on to get her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing.

 Erin has made a few sacrifices, but she wants to show her two children that you can do anything your heart desires. She also is willing to put in the work it takes to accomplish her dream. “If you dream about it, you can make it happen,” Erin said.

 “Thank you first and foremost,” Erin said. “With childcare costs and other expenses, the scholarship was a big relief.”
