Center Stage Theatre will present their production of “Proof” on Nov. 13-17 at the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building theater at St. Charles Community College. The campus is located at 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Dr. in Cottleville.

Performances will be held 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, Nov. 13-16; 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17. The production is appropriate for high school age and older.

Catherine, a troubled young woman, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions, the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire, and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that he left behind. Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father's madness – or genius – will she inherit? This play is the winner of the 2001 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for Best Play.

This performance of “Proof,” written by David Auburn, is produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc. Lynne Snyder will direct the production. Set and lighting design will be provided by Jeff Roop, and costume design will be provided by Jane Bagnall. Dustin Godar (O’Fallon) is the stage manager, and Jordan Ousley (St. Charles) is the assistant stage manager.

The cast includes Harry Weber (Wright City), Tori Stukin (St. Louis), Joey Montgomery (St. Charles) and Angela McNeil (St. Charles).

SCC students are able to attend the play for free with SCC ID. The general public can purchase tickets for $5-8 at stchastickets.com or 636-922-8050.
