SCC Student Members of Phi Beta Lambda Receive Awards at Statewide Conference March 23

The conference featured competitive events for individuals and teams, leadership training, workshop sessions and election of officers for the next year.

SCC students Tammy Slayden and Catherine Dera, both of O’Fallon, Mo., placed second as a team in Desktop Publishing, and Megan Tucker, of St. Peters, Mo., placed fourth in Computer Applications. Slayden and Dera qualified to compete in the National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Tex., June 24-27.

Phi Beta Lambda is an educational association of postsecondary student members preparing for careers in business. There are over 11,000 active members in the United States. Missouri has nearly 500 members in 22 chapters.

Established in 1986, St. Charles Community College is celebrating 25 years as a public, comprehensive two-year community college with associate degrees and certificate programs in the arts, business, sciences and career-technical fields.
