SCC Student Places 9th in Accounting Competition at Phi Beta Lambda National Conference

A total of 2,000 Phi Beta Lambda members from across the nation participated in competitions, networking and leadership activities at the conference.
 
This was Hanna’s first trip to the National Leadership Conference after his second showing at the PBL State Leadership Conference in Jefferson City, Mo., last March, where he placed 3rd in Accounting for Professionals and qualified for nationals.
 
Hanna served as the treasurer for SCC’s PBL chapter and received the PBL Outstanding Service award at the 2010 Student Awards Banquet at SCC in May.
 
SCC student Charles Albers of St. Louis also competed at the National Conference in Economic Analysis and Decision Making. Albers qualified for nationals in March, where he earned 3rd place in Economic Analysis and Decision Making.
 
Phi Beta Lambda is an educational association of postsecondary student members preparing for careers in business. There are over 11,000 active members in the United States. Missouri has more than 400 members in 22 chapters.
