Published: 09/09/2009

The show will be performed Sept. 30-Oct. 4 in the theater of the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building on the SCC campus.  Performances are at 8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, Sept. 30-Oct. 3, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4.  There will be a school matinee performance at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1.

The third part of a trilogy based on Simon’s own life, this comedy/drama follows two brothers, Eugene and Stanley, on their road to success. The brothers are aspiring comedy writers looking to land their first big gig.  But just as they find potential success, they are also forced to make some big decisions about moving away from members of their family who have fallen into troubling situations.

The play is directed by Pamela Cilek, professor of theater at SCC. Set and lighting design is by Lonna Wilke, associate professor of theater, and costumes design is by Deborah Phillips, adjunct theater faculty.  The stage manager is Johanna Beck of St. Charles.

Members of the cast include Andrew Carter of St. Charles as Eugene, David Prosser of Florissant as Stan, Chrissy Young of O’Fallon as Kate, Greg Faupel of St. Peters as Jack, Paul James of St. Charles as Ben, and Courtney Hooker of St. Peters as Blanche.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and college students with ID.  This year, for the first time, Center Stage Theatre will also be observing Budget Wednesdays: all tickets for the Wednesday, Sept. 30 show are $4.
