Certified Medication Technician (CMT 200-40)

This course provides the classroom instruction necessary to obtain Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification in the state of Missouri. The CMT is permitted to administer medications to residents in a long term care setting (typically not in hospitals). An additional 24 hours of clinical observation at the student's employing facility is required for course completion. Students must be employed as a CNA at a licensed facility to be eligible for this course.

There are four different components that make up the CMT Program at St. Charles Community College: pre-test, classroom instruction, clinical work and final exam. Students must pass the pre-test to be eligible for the CMT class. Upon successful completion of both the classroom instruction and the clinical work, students will be eligible to take the final exam, which will lead to state certification.

*Partial tuition for this program is being funded by a federal MoHealthWINS grant. All students who meet the eligibility requirements of the course will receive this funding and pay discounted tuition rates (these rates are listed below).
