Published: 05/16/2018

It was a beautiful spring day for some 639 runners and walkers who took part in a 5K and Radical Mile, held on April 28 at St. Charles Community College. The events were part of the college’s 25th running on campus that drew area residents for a morning of health, fitness and family recreation. The race’s theme brought out runners decked in ‘80s gear.

“From start to finish, this health and wellness event was about as colorful as it gets. Not only was it great to see families taking part, it was awesome to have so many runners get into the spirit of our 1980s theme,” said Heather McDorman, race director and vice president for marketing and student life at the college. “It’s gratifying to see people of all ages and ability levels participate in the run events, as well as have the opportunity to visit booths from a variety of local exhibitors.”
