Mezzo-Soprano Erin Haupt, a native of St. Louis, is an active performer and teacher most recently seen as Marthe in Faust. Other opera credits include Bianca, Rape of Lucretia Johanna Meier Opera, Pitti-Sing, Mikado Winter Opera St. Louis, Fricka (cover) in Das Rheingold, Amahl and the Night Visitors, Il Trovatore, La fille due Regiment, Turandot, Un ballo in maschera, and Pikovaya Dama with Union Avenue Opera, as well as the Sorceress, Dido & Æneas and Tessa in the Gondoliers.
As a concert soloist, Ms. Haupt has been featured in Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Gounod’s Messe Solennelle, Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, Mozart’s Requiem Mass, and Mozart’s Coronation Mass. She has been a Guest Artist with Masterworks Choral, The Kingsbury Ensemble, St. Louis Cathedral Concert Series, and University Symphony to name a few. She made her Powell Hall debut with the Bach Society as a soloist in Bach’s Magnificat in December of 2012.
Winner of the Southern Illinois Young Artist Competition, as well as a Young Artist for the Bach Society of St. Louis from 2011-13, Haupt is a graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis and Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Ms. Haupt teaches voice and diction at St. Charles Community College.
