Dear Faculty and Staff:
I hope you enjoyed the long holiday weekend!
I would like to congratulate the teams who are debuting a new diversity and inclusion communications campaign on campus this week. Led by Martha Garcia Kampen, chief diversity and compliance officer, the new campaign builds on the college’s tagline and is titled, Be Extraordinary. Be You.
Thanks also goes out to the Marketing and Communications Department team members who worked with Martha to create messaging and visuals that will support this important campaign. Attached you will find copies of fliers and the artwork you will soon see across campus. You can find more information on the college website and on our social media channels.
Be Extraordinary. Be You. is a great way to demonstrate to our faculty, staff, students and visitors that SCC is an inclusive and welcoming place to learn and work.
Next week marks the first art exhibit of the academic year. I encourage you to attend the opening reception for “Interiors” from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in FAB 106. The multimedia invitational art exhibit, displayed in the FAB Hallway and Annex, will feature interior spaces as the subject matter.
The men’s and women’s soccer teams are in action later this week, as is our new men’s cross country team. Women’s soccer is playing at home at 4 p.m. this Thursday. Visit Cougar Athletics at www.sccathletics.com and be sure to root on your Cougars!
Have a great week,
Barbara
