Dear Faculty and Staff:
I hope you are having a wonderful week. Last night we had a Board of Trustees meeting where several key items were approved. As you are aware, each year Vice President Davis negotiates with our insurance providers regarding rates. A recommendation was made to the Board to renew contracts associated with the Arthur J. Gallagher & Co Marketplace. I am pleased to announce that the Board approved all contracts, ensuring the continuation of benefits at no additional cost to the college or to employees. Thanks to Vice President Davis for her good efforts.
The Board also approved three different architectural, engineering and technical consulting services for the following projects:
- Police Substation – The construction of a new Police Substation will be funded by the developer of our student housing project. It will be located adjacent to the student apartments.
- Culinary Arts Program, Dardenne Creek Campus – SCC received a MoExcel grant which will help fund the remodel of the gymnasium to accommodate a Culinary Arts and Brewery program.
- New Welding/Technical Building, Main Campus – We will be building a new 10,000 sq. ft. facility to house welding and other technical programs. The building will be located adjacent to our current maintenance building as noted in the following photo.
Our fall enrollment is still looking good. As of Monday, we were up 3.8%.
Have a great rest of week.
Best wishes,
Barbara
