Dear Faculty and Staff:
It’s that time of unique time of year when we begin to plan for the end of the spring term while we also begin to enroll students in summer and fall terms. Let’s recommit to serving those students who want to finish the semester strong, and let’s continue to provide excellent service to students who need support and guidance as they enroll in the summer and/or fall semester.
The Food to Table Culinary and Agricultural Center was named a finalist in the St. Louis Business Journal’s Building St. Louis Awards 2021. The building was dedicated in August 2020 and serves credit and non-credit students.
Congratulations to Diane Arnzen, SCC director of academic advising, for her recent recognition as the Peer Corps “Rookie of the Year” from our accreditation agency, the Higher Learning Commission. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month commonly known as SAAM. Take the opportunity this month to become more informed about how to prevent sexual assault. You will find two good educational videos on your Safe Colleges training site. SCC prohibits any actions of sexual harassment by students, employees, or visitors. Review our SCC Sexual Harassment policy and procedures to ensure the safety of all our campus community.
You will notice that I have not included the COVID-19 update. As more St. Charles County residents become vaccinated, the total number of cases/deaths has decreased significantly. Please feel free to reach out to Vice President Galbierz, Chair of the Pandemic Committee, for any questions or information related to the vaccine.
Have a wonderful week,
Barbara
