Dear Faculty and Staff:
With the return to Daylight Saving Time our afternoons are now brighter. Let’s hope that Springing Forward this past Sunday means that we will begin to see signs of Spring very soon.
Congratulations to our most recent President’s Award winners, Heather Dolson, library assistant, and Ranya Taqieddin, biology instructor. Heather received the staff award in recognition of her excellent service to students, faculty and staff visiting the library. Heather’s positive attitude and enthusiasm are greatly appreciated. Ranya received the faculty award for consistently going above and beyond to improve the experience of our students, faculty and staff. Ranya is an extraordinary teacher who continues to receive the highest student evaluation and praise from deans and colleagues. Congratulations, Heather and Ranya!

It was exciting to join with my SCC colleagues and the leadership from Missouri State University (MSU) following the conclusion of the March 4 Coordinating Board for Higher Education meeting to celebrate the signing of an MOU that marks the partnership of a joint Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant. This was an historic moment for higher education in Missouri as a community college and four-year university work together to solve critical issues of employment and health care within our communities.

What Is Feminism? is the kick-off event to mark Women’s History Month this Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the SSB Auditorium. The Student Activities Office, League of Women Voters, BRIDGE Committee and SCC Catering Department are hosting a variety of events on campus throughout March.
Wishing you all the best.
