Dear Faculty and Staff:
Today is one of the most important days in our democracy – our national election. I hope you will take the opportunity to exercise your right to vote. Please note that Board policy allows employees up to three (3) hours to vote in a governmental election or referendum. As you may be aware, our College Center is a polling precinct. The following pictures highlight the activity on campus. The first picture is of our yellow parking lot at 6:30 a.m.. The second picture captures part of the line at the entrance to the College Center.
From SCC’s Veterans Services - Though the annual Veterans Day ceremony will not take place this year on campus, it’s important that our veterans are celebrated for their service. Students, faculty and staff are asked to submit photos of a veteran they would like to honor along with this form . Please send the form and photo to firstname.lastname@example.org before Monday, Nov. 9. Our veterans will be celebrated in the College’s social media platforms; Veterans Day is Nov. 11.
Beginning this week, SCC’s English Language Culture Institute and the Global Student Network have come together to offer a slate of virtual activities in November that will shine a light on our global community. The month begins with “Focus on International Education: What Is it Like in Other Countries?” Register here for the Zoom event that will take place 8:45-9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4.
Wishing you a pleasant week,
