I’m pleased to share that our third annual Chuck Wagon Chili Cook-Off is coming up from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30. It is always such fun to get the campus community together and join in a little healthy competition. If your department is interested in entering a chili recipe, contact Amber Peterson atapeterson@stchas.edu by Oct. 25.

Last week’s Manufacturing Day was another hit. What a great way to bring local middle and high school students to campus, while helping them learn more about and further enjoy the STEM field.

It was a pleasure to attend last week’s Athletics Meet and Greet. Our athletics program is a great representation of the teamwork we strive to achieve here at SCC, and I look forward to watching the Cougars play the remainder of the year and into the spring.

We were also lucky to have the rain hold off on Saturday for our second annual Trunktoberfest. This event brought a lot of our community members out to campus who might not have visited us otherwise. Thank you to everyone who helped put this event on and all the clubs and organizations who volunteered to host a “trunk.”

Last night, I attended a Warren County workgroup meeting with business and educational leaders to continue the discussion of how we can better serve their community.
