Dear Faculty and Staff:

On Wednesday, Oct. 7, Governor Parson held a press conference in which he provided some unanticipated news. He is approving a partial release of the withholds in 2020 for community colleges and universities. According to the Missouri Office of Administration, net revenue collections for September increased by 3.0 percent as compared to September 2019.

tbt10.21.20Also on Oct. 7, our Nursing and Allied Health programs partnered with the St. Charles County Health Department, BJC, SSM, Cottleville Fire
Rescue, and several other organizations to host, on campus, the Flunk the Flu Drive-Thru Clinic. The response to this event was greater than any of us anticipated. More than 1,600 vaccines were administered to the community and 23,500 free masks were distributed. As Provost Koehler commented, “Despite these uncertain times, SCC came together, honored our mission, and demonstrated our ability to support the needs of our own community.” My appreciation is extended to everyone who helped the Flunk the Flu event succeed.

tbt10.21.20bNews From Dining Services – Plaza Bistro is now offering call-in orders for pickup at the coffee shop or curbside pickup on the patio. They will also deliver orders to a main campus department. Weekly menus are posted on the portal. Simply call the coffee shop at 636-922-8263 to place the order. Plaza Bistro is now offering a rewards program. Just stop by the Coffee Shop and get your reward card. For every purchase made at the coffee shop, you get a punch on your card. When you complete 8 punches, you can receive your choice of a coffee or cookie. Every completed card is eligible for a monthly drawing for a specialty drink from the Coffee Shop.

tbt10.21.20cPlease consider taking part in SCC’s Week of Service, taking place Oct. 25-31 at various locations in St. Charles County. The event gives faculty, staff and students the chance to participate in a variety of community service projects across our county. This year’s event will encourage virtual, remote and a few low-contact outdoor projects in accordance with guidelines for events during the pandemic. To sign up, visit stchas.instructure.com/courses/29050. For more information, contact Bryonie A. Carter at bcarter@stchas.edu or 636-922-8266.

tbt10.21.20dHuman Resources is announcing that open enrollment is here. SCC’s annual benefit open enrollment will be held from Oct. 26 to Nov. 8. In order to have insurance benefits in 2021, faculty and staff must log in and make benefit elections during the above time frame, even if there will be no change to your current coverages. An invitation to enroll in benefits from Liazon, SCC’s marketplace administrator, will be sent on or before Monday, Oct. 26.

Have a good week,

Barbara
