Dear Faculty and Staff:
It is my pleasure to announce the President’s Council selection for the October 2019 President’s Award: Teresa Drury (staff) and Christy Gant (faculty).
Teresa Drury, office coordinator for student life, was recognized for the outstanding service she provides students that visit the student life office and her extraordinary commitment to SCC’s mission and values.
Christy Gant, associate professor of English, was recognized for her leadership of SCC’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter. Christy was recently named a Five Star Advisor by the international society and the SCC chapter consistently attains Five Star status.
Please join me in congratulating both Teresa and Christy.
On October 8, SCC was presented with a membership recognition award at the Warrenton Chamber of Commerce meeting. We continue to make good progress developing and strengthening our partnerships with the community and with business and industry throughout Warren County.
Our fourth annual Chuck Wagon Chili Cook-Off is coming up from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25. It is always such fun to get the campus community together and join in a little healthy competition. If your department is interested in entering a chili recipe, contact Amber Peterson at apeterson@stchas.edu by Oct. 21.
Last Friday, students, faculty and staff joined together to participate in SCC’s Day of Service. Despite the rain, the SCC community was able to lend a hand at Crisis Nursery, Calvary Church, the city of St. Peters and at projects on both of our campuses. Thank you to everyone who participated
Best wishes,
Barbara
