SCC awards both Pell Grants and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOGs). Unlike loans, you'll never have to repay these need-based awards. Learn more about Pell Grants and FSEOGs below, including eligibility, award terms, and how to apply.

Pell Grants

Pell Grants are awarded to undergraduates with demonstrated financial need, who have not yet earned a bachelor's or professional degree.
  • Pell Grants never have to be repaid
  • Need is determined by your FAFSA
  • Maximum award for 2024–25 academic year: $7,395
  • Awards are based on full-time enrollment in degree-required courses (12+ credit hours/semester)
  • Pell Grant awards for less than full-time enrollment will be prorated (see chart below).  

Note: Your eligibility may vary year-to-year, depending on the amount of your Expected Family Contribution (EFC).

FSEOGs

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOGs) are awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional financial need.
  • FSEOGs never have to be repaid
  • Financial need is determined by your FAFSA
  • Awards range from $100-$4,000 per year
  • Awards are based on full-time enrollment in degree-required courses (12+ credit hours/semester)
  • Visiting students are not eligible

Note: We strive to provide FSEOG funding to as many students as possible, but awards may be limited by annual enrollment and funding allocations.

How to apply

  • Apply to SCC
  • Submit your official high school transcript with your graduation date to SCC
  • Submit your FAFSA (SCC school code: 017027) and any other required verification documents

You will receive a Financial Aid Award Letter outlining the amount and type of financial aid being offered to you. Follow the instructions contained in the letter to accept your award.
