Bob Blattel, continuing education teacher at SCC and founder of Blattel & Associates, is a man of many interests.

He fills his days working as a financial planner, nurturing hobbies, spending time with family and teaching continuing education classes at SCC. Through it all, having the opportunity to give back to the community has been a driving force behind his success.

As an active member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Bob enjoys volunteering in nursing homes and schools performing magic tricks. “Everyone needs to laugh, no matter what they are going though,” he said. “I really enjoy making people smile.” 

Blattel & Associates is also the primary supporter of an annual breakfast with Santa event, where clients get involved by donating and distributing toys, followed by a magic show benefiting low-income families with children.

“There are so many ways to give back to the community,” Bob said. “We want to make a difference.”

Blattel & Associates recently set up a scholarship with the SCC Foundation to give students in-need the opportunity for higher education.

Bob has taught at SCC in continuing education since 1990. “At the time, I taught out of a satellite location because the current campus was still under development.”

He teaches a two-week financial planning course to help people plan for retirement. “It’s been exciting growing with the college throughout the years,” Bob said.
