St. Charles Community College will host an exhibit featuring artwork from Continuing Education students and instructors Monday, July 22-Saturday, Aug. 3. The show, titled “Art Extravaganza,” will be in the gallery of the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building on the SCC campus in Cottleville.
The gallery will feature the artwork from students of all ages who have participated in the Continuing Education Departments’ 2011-2013 classes and summer camps, as well as their instructors. Some of the artwork will be for sale.
Meet the artists and instructors at a reception from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, in the Fine Arts Building gallery. Students from the SCC Suzuki Strings music program will provide entertainment.
Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
The exhibition is open to all who have attended an SCC Continuing Education art, craft, photography or computer design class in the past 24 months. Artwork must be original work created by the artist within the past two years and not previously shown at SCC.
Those interested in showcasing their work can submit up to five works. Acceptance is dependent on the number of overall entries and space available. Entry forms must be received by the Continuing Education office in the John M. McGuire Humanities Building, Room 103, by 4 p.m. Friday, July 12.
This not a juried show, and there is no entry fee.
