Our youth are never too young – or too old – to enjoy music. Thanks to SCC’s Applied Music Department and the St. Charles Community College Department of Continuing Education, the same can be said about learning to make music, too.
The two departments have joined to form the SCC Music Preparatory Academy, a non-credit, private eight-week instruction program in piano, voice, brass, string, woodwind, and guitar instruments for youths ages 6-18.
Music instruction is available for students younger than age six, thanks to the nationally recognized Suzuki violin program, which is offered for children as young as three years old.
At St. Charles Community College, you’ll receive the highest quality musical education. Our instructors hold master’s or doctoral degrees, have extensive teaching experience, and are active performers locally, nationally, and internationally.
Individual lessons are offered days, evenings, and Saturdays in voice, piano, guitar, and all orchestral instruments at all levels, from beginners through advanced.
Students may receive one 30-minute lesson each week; or, for more advanced students, 60-minute lessons once a week are also available.
Lesson day and time is scheduled on an individual basis at the convenience of the student and teacher.
Private lessons are offered in eight-week sessions for students middle-school age to adults.
Notice of 24 hours is required for lesson cancellations.
