CULINARY AND BAKING & PASTRY

The A.A.S. in emergency medical science (EMS) is a completion degree that allows students to enhance their current, valid paramedic license. This A.A.S. supports paramedics seeking promotion within the fire & EMS industries. The program is designed to develop communication and critical-thinking skills.

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSING (LPN)

A certificate in practical nursing prepares students to work at bedside performing under the supervision of registered nurses and doctors. Students will develop the necessary skills to plan and manage a patient’s care, monitor patient health, dress wounds, administer medications, etc. This certificate program also prepares students to complete the NCLEX – PN, which certifies them as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).

Nurse at these locations – Acute care hospitals, home health care, long-term care, physician offices, correctional facilities, rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, pediatric clinics, etc.

NURSING (RN/ADN)

An associate degree in nursing prepares students to creatively solve complex critical thinking problems. Students will learn bedside nursing skills as well as perform non-routine tasks through lab, simulation and clinicals. This degree prepares students to complete the NCLEX, which certifies them as Registered Nurses (RNs).

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (OTA)

Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) work closely with the elderly population and those recovering from injury or with developmental disabilities. OTAs work in collaboration with a registered Occupational Therapist (OT). This program helps students develop interpersonal, organizational, collaborative and creative skills.

HEALTH OCCUPATION CERTIFICATES

SCC offers a wide range of courses in different areas of the health care industry. Students who complete a program receive a certificate which may make them eligible for state or national certification exams. Certification qualifies graduates for entry-level practice in many health care workplace settings.
