Maintaining Aid

To maintain your financial aid, you'll need to complete a FAFSA for each academic year. You also must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress each semester in order to remain eligible.

When to Re-Apply for FAFSA

You can complete a FAFSA as early as Oct. 1st for the following fall semester. Exception: The 2024-2025 FAFSA will be available in December 2023. The Department of Education is making major changes to the FAFSA application. Learn more on our FAFSA webpage.

  • Attending both Fall and Spring semesters? The priority application deadline is June 1.
  • Spring semester only? The application deadline is Nov. 1.
  • Summer semester only? The application deadline is May 1.

Satisfactory Academic Progress

Federal and state financial aid is intended to assist students as they make successful progress toward completing a degree. As a student, you have the responsibility of demonstrating satisfactory academic progress. In simpler terms - in order to maintain eligibility, you must academically qualify for your funding by meeting certain academic standards. If you are not receiving financial assistance, you are also held to these same standards.
