Dear Faculty and Staff:
The first five weeks of the fall semester are now complete. Thank you all for your efforts to provide the services and education that our students need to succeed.
The country recently marked the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 tragegy. Last week, we celebrated the virtual presentation of Democracy Days, once again curated by Michael Kuelker, professor emeritus of English. Congratulations to Professor Kuelker and the speakers who spoke on important topics including racism, police reform, voter fraud and more.
Unofficial numbers from the Fall 2020 Census show a 2.3% decrease in enrollment compared to Fall 2019. Considering that last year’s fall enrollment was 2.3% up from the previous year and understanding that we are in uncertain times, this year’s fall enrollment keeps us on track to meet our budget goals pending the results of spring enrollment. Thank you to all the teams who worked hard to support our enrollment. Faculty and staff, please share with your students about the two new mental health services that are being offered by the Student Life Office. META is a mobile app that delivers easy access to private and confidential counseling services. Sanvello is an app that provides students with free access to tools and resources for stress, anxiety and depression. These online services are offered in addition to a Student Support Case Manager and a Mental Health Counselor.
Here is the COVID-19 update for the past two weeks:
Have a great week and take advantage of the start of fall weather!
