Dear Faculty and Staff:

Yesterday, I sat down with students from Warrenton High School for our first Signing Day event. Similar to signing events for high school student athletes, Warrenton High School seniors were lauded as they pledged to pursue an education at SCC. We know they are making a choice worthy of celebration! We have another Signing Day today and many more to come this month. Thank you for all the hard work put into making these events happen.

We have officially selected April 25 as our date for an Academic Programs and Student Services Open House. I encourage you to consider showcasing your program or service at this event designed for prospective students. We have a lot of offer students, and this is a great chance to show it off. Contact Brynne at bcramer@stchas.edu to reserve a booth.

Next week we will complete the final round of interviews for the Vice President of Student Services. There are three finalists (one candidate received another job offer). The campus forums are scheduled on April 8, 9 & 10 and will be held in the Board Room from 3:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.  I hope you can join us.

Each year we will host an annual Retirement Recognition Ceremony for faculty and staff who retired during the academic year.  This year’s reception is scheduled for May 7 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the College Center Rotunda.

Don’t forget, this Friday is our Day of Service. If you are interested in participating, contact Amber at ahart@stchas.edu.  Also – remember it is voting day.  Please feel free to adjust your schedules as needed to go out and vote – and enjoy the sunshine!
