Yesterday we completed the interview process for candidates named as finalists for Vice President of Student Services. I would like to offer my appreciation to Dr. John Bookstaver for serving as chair of the search committee, and to the following committee members for their good efforts in identifying the final candidates:

I would also like to thank the faculty and staff who participated in the candidate forums.  Your honest and thoughtful feedback is appreciated greatly. I hope to be able to make an announcement regarding the results of this search by Monday, April 22. 

Yesterday I received an update from the Missouri Community College Association regarding HB 77, known as the “PSRS bill.”  The Governor will sign the bill into law at 3:00 p.m. today. As a reminder, this bill is related to community college faculty who work after retirement. Once signed, the law reverts to the provisions in place prior to August 28, 2018. We are very fortunate to have dedicated and informed Emeritus Faculty who worked with me and MCCA to encourage legislators to make this needed change.

Recently, faculty and students travelled to Jefferson City for International Education Day.  Thanks to Dawn Huffman, current chair of the Study Missouri Consortium, for her leadership in organizing this trip.

As a reminder, Friday (April 19) is an official college holiday.  I wish you and your loved ones a peaceful and safe holiday weekend.
