Dear Faculty and Staff:

The last year has been hard on all of us as we tried to stay safe and healthy, adjust to remote working, and continued to miss our friends and extended family. It has been stressful, and the SCC team has responded with dedication and excellence. To recognize such good work under challenging circumstances, this year the College will be closed Wednesday through Friday, March 17-19, during Spring Break (March 19 was already a scheduled day off for staff). I hope these extra days will give you time to disconnect and take part in activities that allow you to rejuvenate and relax.

As Black History Month nears its conclusion, I wanted to remind you of two more opportunities to learn about the African American/Black experience:

1. MOC Student Success Summit, Friday, Feb. 26 – Schedule and registration.

2. Hidden History: History of Racism – Part 1, March 1 – register.

Recently the President’s Council approved a new committee structure. This afternoon, Sharon Schreiber sent out an e-mail regarding the new committees and included instructions for identifying the committees on which you are interested in serving. We appreciate your assistance in completing your selection form by March 4.
