Dear Faculty and Staff:

Welcome back and, welcome to 2020 – a year that holds a good deal of promise for SCC and our students.

While classes do not begin until this Friday, yesterday we marked a new chapter is SCC’s history as our first student residents move in to Campus Lake Apartments. This opportunity for our students adds even more to the quality education and experience they receive at SCC. This will be a small group of residents but we expect that the Fall 2020 semester move in will include a diverse student population, including athletes, international students and those students who recognize the value of living on campus.

Faculty returned to campus yesterday to take part in their In-Service Program including an All Faculty Update set for 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, in the FAB theatre. It will be preceded with refreshments and an open house in the newly remodeled Plaza Bistro in the Student Center beginning at 8:15 a.m.  For all the coffee lovers at SCC, Starbucks is now open in the Student Center. 

The Staff Update will be held Friday, Feb. 14. Everyone should “Save the Date” for our annual Faculty/Staff Service Recognition Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14.

Finally, we still have students registering for Spring 2020 classes. Classes begin this Friday. I wish to give a shout-out to the folks in Student Services, Recruitment, and Cashiers Office for their excellent efforts in serving out students during registration. Thank you!
