10K, 5K, Fun Run & Expo

On Saturday, April 27, 2013, St. Charles Community College will present RUN. LIVE. LEARN. SCC's 21st annual wellness event includes a 10K, 5K, Fun Run, and a Health and Wellness Expo, featuring fitness, health and recreation exhibits, as well as demonstrations, screenings and displays.

New this year! One runner will win a $1,000 scholarship to SCC. Entrants in the 5K and 10K races (ages 18 and older) will be automatically entered into a drawing for the scholarship. They may also purchase additional chances for the scholarship drawing. See RUN. ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. You can still register in person (Race Registration Form PDF) from 8-4:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, and 6:30-7 a.m. (10K & 5K), and 8-9 a.m. (Fun Run) on Race Day.  Race entry fee includes a full-color dry-tec T-shirt in men’s, women’s and youth sizes (while supplies last), refreshments and tickets for prize baskets. Entry into the Health and Wellness Expo is free and open to the public. Event proceeds will be used to fund college wellness projects. See race information below for 10K, 5K, and Fun Run entry fee costs.

Rain or shine, we run!

Both the 10K and 5K are USATF certified courses and are chip timed. 10K route is flat to rolling through rural Cottleville and unincorporated St. Charles County. The 5K route and Fun Run are on campus. The 10K and 5K are staged on the Green Parking Lot near the Student Center; the Fun Run is staged on Campus Plaza near the Learning Resources Center.

10K and 5K Races

• 10K & 5K* races start at 7:30 a.m. (*NOTE: Start time change for 5K)
• Please, no walkers in the 10K. For safety purposes, walkers should take part in 5K course.
• Two water stations on 10K route provided by Missouri American Water Co.

Fun Run

Looking for something the whole family can participate in and enjoy? Bring the kids to the Fun Run!

Late Registration Fees and Hours (April 20-27)

• $25 per person for 10K or 5K, including any race day entries.
• $20 per person for Fun Run, including any race day entries.
• Please do not mail registrations.
• ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.
• Register in person (Race Registration Form PDF) from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, April 22-26 (Room 1121, Administration Building).

Runners Wishing to Change Their Race Event Registration

NO CHANGING RACE EVENTS ON RACE DAY!

Deadline: 4 p.m. Friday, April 26.
Call 636-922-8475 to request the change and have your race bib reissued.

Runners changing from the Fun Run to the 5K (or 10K) will need to pay an additional $5 registration fee.

Packet Pickup Information

• 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, April 26, near Room 1121 in the Administration Building at St. Charles Community College.
• 6:30-7:15 a.m. on Race Day (Atrium, Administration Building).

Awards

• Ceremony starts at 10 a.m. (approximately) followed by prize drawings; outdoor amphitheater in the campus plaza.
• $100 cash prizes to first overall men’s and women’s finishers in the 10K.
• $50 cash prizes to first overall men’s and women’s finishers in the 5K.
• Medals to 10K and 5K age group winners (19 and under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 and over).
• Trophies to Fun Run age group winners (6 and under; 7-8; 9-10; 11-12; 13-14).
• Medals to Fun Run age group 15 and over.
• Participation "diploma" to each finisher in the Fun Run.

Prize Drawings

Check out the prizes at the Health and Wellness Expo in the Student Center and enter for a chance to win. All race participants will receive two free tickets to enter in the prize basket drawings, and additional tickets will be available for purchase at the cost of $1 for two tickets. Must be present to win.

$1,000 Scholarship to SCC Drawing

Entrants in the 5K and 10K races (ages 18 and older) will be automatically entered into a drawing for a $1,000 scholarship to SCC. They may also purchase additional chances for the scholarship drawing at packet pickup on Friday, April 26, and on Race Day. Cost: $5 for one chance or $10 for three chances. Runners must show their RUN. LIVE. LEARN. 5K or 10K race bib and be age 18 and over to purchase additional chances. See RUN. LIVE. LEARN. Scholarship for details.

Race Day Photos

Race day photos will be available for free download the week following the race at www.stchas.edu/run.

Reminder

Runners/walkers with a history of asthma should bring their inhalers with them on race day. Nursing students will be available at the first aid station to assist anyone with medical conditions.
