Voters created the St. Charles Community College district on April 1, 1986, and the first classes were held in June of 1987. The 25th anniversary celebration is planned for April 2011-June 2012.

Get the latest info on what’s happening for SCC’s 25th anniversary right here! All students, student organizations, alumni, faculty, staff, SCC departments and offices and community members are encouraged to get involved and celebrate with SCC. 25th of the Month Event - April 25, 2012

Everyone may wear jeans and college gear, maroon and gray spirit colors or a 25th anniversary T-shirt. Employees are encouraged to wear their 25th anniversary pin.

Do you have the most school spirit? Students, faculty and staff may all participate in the School Spirit Photo Contest that day! Check out the 25th Anniversary Blog for details.

Tree Planting Ceremony - June 16, 2012

At the Living Green Expo

10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, on the Campus Plaza, in front of the Learning Resource Center.

Open to the community.

As SCC closes its 25th anniversary year in June, you’re invited to commemorate the occasion. The ceremony will mark the moment, celebrating the accomplishments of the college and providing a glimpse into its plans for a successful, sustainable future serving the residents of St. Charles County. A commemorative photo will be taken at the event.

Silver Social - June 22, 2012

A celebration for SCC faculty and staff.

4:30-7 p.m. Friday, June 22, in the auditorium of the Social Sciences Building.

The final celebration of the 25th anniversary year! SCC faculty and staff are invited to join colleagues after work for hors d'oeuvres, mocktails, music, games and a closing program, including words from Dr. Chesbrough.

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the college, SCC Continuing Education is bringing you special classes at a special price. Just $25! Get in on the fun and try out a class you have been curious about.

Kick-Off Events

SCC kicked off its 25th anniversary with a weeklong celebration of events beginning April 1, the official day voters created the St. Charles Community College district 25 years ago in 1986, and continuing through April 8. Some of the events included:

• Birthday party for Scooter McCougar, SCC’s mascot
• Campus-wide party with live music and games
• All campus anniversary photo
• Scavenger hunt
• Egg hunt
• Kite flying
• Baseball tailgate party
• Movie night, featuring 1986 box office hit “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”
• There were also lunch specials, Bookstore specials, and lots of free Chick-Fil-A sandwiches.
