Is St. Charles Community College still open?

Yes. All campus services, student services and classes have been moved online.

When can I come back to campus?

SCC will continue following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and St. Charles County Health Department regarding safety and social distancing. It is difficult at this point to state when campus will resume normal operations.

What is being done to clean campus?

The St. Charles Community College Housekeeping Department will clean and sanitize each building on campus March 16-19. Once the building has been cleaned and sanitized, access will be restricted as much as possible.

Are all events canceled on campus?

All events have been canceled or postponed on campus until May 18. However, SCC will continue following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and St. Charles County Health Department regarding safety and social distancing. How will Summer Semester classes work this year?

All classwork for the Summer 2020 Semester will be provided online. Because online courses require additional support resources and technology, tuition rates will be: $121 per credit hour (in-district) / $174 per credit hour (out-of-district) / $231 per credit hour (out-of-state/international students).

Will refunds still be issued to students?

Yes. For Spring 16-week classes, the last day to drop and receive a “W” is Friday, April 3. For students who are requesting a refund at this point in the term, please refer to the SCC refund policy page.

How will online classes work?

Students are encouraged to regularly check their email and Canvas for important information regarding classes. For students with hands-on classes and labs, your professor/s will provide you with instructions.

How can I get help from the librarians with my classes moved online?

We don't charge fines on most of our books and DVD's but if a fine is generated it will be waived. MOBIUS borrowing and lending is currently suspended since we are not physically on campus. Please contact us for information on the eBooks we have available.

How will courses with labs and other hands-on courses be conducted remotely?

Different classes will be handling assignments for these specialized classes in different ways. But we intend for all such classes to continue and to meet the learning objectives for the course. Your instructor will talk to you next week about the plans for your particular class.


What if I don’t have a computer or internet?

If you have any technology concerns, students are asked to inform each of your professors as soon as possible. We will work with students to find solutions. SCC’s goal is to minimize any disruption to student learning.

Will tutoring services still be offered?

The ACE Tutoring Center is offering online-only tutoring services effectively immediately. Students are encouraged to call 636-922-8444 to set up an appointment. Instructions will be sent following the call on how to connect to a tutor virtually.
