How to Apply for Aid

Before You Begin

  1. Gather all the necessary information you'll need to apply for financial assistance. You can find a list of the necessary documents on the FAFSA site.
  2. Obtain FSA ID at
    • This will serve as your signature when completing the FAFSA.
  3. St. Charles Community College Title IV School Code is 017027.

Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Renewing Your Financial Aid

  • You must complete a FAFSA for each school year. The money you receive is not automatically renewable.
  • You should apply for financial assistance, for the upcoming school year, as soon as you have filed your income taxes from the previous year.
    • If you will be attending the fall & spring semesters, the application deadline is June 1.
    • If you will be attending the spring semester only, the application deadline is Nov. 1.
  • Students who do not have a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent (e.g., GED), or do not meet the home school requirements, and who first enroll in a program of study after July 1, 2012, will not be eligible to receive Title IV student aid.
  • High school students are not eligible for financial assistance.
