Accessibility Services Assistant - Temporary

Duties:

Duties include helping students with disabilities by administering and proctoring exams and assessments, arranging note takers, and assisting with the operation of adaptive equipment. Must be able to work independently. Explains and enforces to students the Accessibility Services policies and procedures and obtains confirmation from students. Keeps records of each Accessibility Services student’s schedule. Enters daily documentation of student appointments and contacts on database.

Assists the Accessibility Services Coordinator by setting up interpreters or captioners in classroom, as approved. Arranges special seating in classrooms. Takes inventory of the Accessibility Services equipment twice per year. Monitors forms utilized in Accessibility Services and orders when needed. Performs general office duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent reading/writing/oral communications abilities. Associate’s degree in human services or a related field is preferred. Experience serving individuals with special needs is preferred.

  • Instructors needed to teach day courses in Microsoft Office 2013. Qualified candidates must be available to be on campus during the day and hold a Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Economics Instructors.  Instructors needed to teach Economics. Master's in Economics is required.
  • Computer Networking Instructors. Instructors needed to teach advanced Microsoft classes, including Exchange Server and computer repair classes. Microsoft certifications and A+ certification desired. Minimum five years of work experience in IT. Bachelor's degree or higher required. Teaching experience is not required. Candidates should have a strong desire to teach.
  • Math Instructors.Math instructors are needed to teach College Algebra and various math courses. Master’s in mathematics is required.
  • Geography Instructors. Geography instructors should have a Master’s degree in Geography.
  • Chemistry Instructors. Chemistry instructors should have a Master’s degree in chemistry. Teaching experience preferred. Courses could include Introduction to Chemistry lecture, Introduction to Chemistry lab and General Chemistry I and II.
  • Biology Instructors.Biology Instructors are needed for Microbiology and Anatomy & Physiology lectures and/or labs. A Master’s degree in Biology or a related field with prior teaching experience is required. 
  • Instructors needed to teachWindows Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 7), A+ certification classes, and Cisco Networking Academy classes. Bachelor's degree, industry certifications, and teaching experience desired but not required for all positions. For the Cisco Networking Academy position one must have completed the proper CCNA training through a regional Cisco Networking Academy to be eligible. Days and/or evenings.
  • Technology Instructor. Must have Master's degree in Education and have knowledge of current technologies (devices and applications) being used in K-12 classrooms as well as knowledge of Microsoft applications.

Adjunct Faculty for Educational Psychology

The Mental Health Counselor will provide crisis assessment, interventions and solution based counseling for students.

Other duties include:

  • Working in close partnership with faculty and staff to develop an identification, service and referral process for “at risk” students.
  • Assessing students, develop an individualized intervention plan and provide services which may include crisis intervention, individual and family brief solution focused counseling, psychosocial group involvement, referral and follow-up services.
  • Providing case management through support, tracking, and follow-up and participate in promoting student resiliency.
  • Providing referral and follow-up to community agencies and coordination of community based services.
  • Facilitating intervention and prevention oriented psychosocial educational groups.
  • Making presentations to students, faculty and staff related to mental health issues.
  • Maintaining confidential records and complete all case notes in a timely fashion.  Comply with all Federal and FERPA regulations and follow all ethical standards of the profession.
  • Participating in ongoing staff training, meeting, supervision meeting.

Technical Writer and Instructional Designer(s) to develop documentation product instructions, reference information, and/or maintenance manuals.  The writer/designer would work closely with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and completeness of content.  Experience developing and implementing online training and training related resources a plus.
