Synopsis:

The Glass Menagerie is a poignant story, set in the late 1930’s, of an aging southern belle and her family trapped in a world of illusions, stifled dreams and quiet desperation. This classic play by Tennessee Williams, who lived in St. Louis, is based on his own life and experiences and is credited with being the play that launched his successful career.

Roles Available:

Amanda Wingfield - A faded Southern belle, abandoned by her husband, who is trying to raise her two children under harsh financial conditions.

Tom Wingfield - Amanda’s son, and younger brother to sister, Laura. Tom works at a shoe warehouse to support his family but is frustrated by his job and aspires to be a poet.

Laura Wingfield - Amanda’s daughter and Tom’s older sister. A childhood illness has left her with a physical disability, and she has a mental fragility and an inferiority complex that have isolated her from the outside world.

Jim O’Connor - An old high-school acquaintance of Tom and Laura. Jim was a popular athlete and actor during his days at Soldan High School.

We highly encourage people of all abilities, ethnicities and genders to audition for any and all roles!
