Health Information Management (HIM) improves the quality of healthcare by ensuring the best information is available to make any healthcare decision.  Health information management professionals manage healthcare data and information resources.  The profession encompasses services in planning, collecting, aggregating, analyzing and disseminating individual patient and aggregate clinical data.  It serves the healthcare industry including:  patient organizations, payers, research and policy agencies and other healthcare related industries.

Set your goal and pursue your dream. Health Information Management offers a multitude of job possibilities. This field continues to evolve and requires a commitment to lifelong learning. The changes taking place within the health field today are monumental. As a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), you can be a part of that change.

St. Charles Community College was the first stepping-stone on my own career path to success. From my graduation from SCC in May of 2010 to my current role as program coordinator in January of 2012, I have realized my personal dream to help shape future careers in this exciting field.
