Programming Certificate of Specialization (Java)

SCC introduces a new accelerated pilot program. This Certificate of Specialization program includes:

  • Six computer science courses in programming
  • Designed to be completed in six months
  • Each student will work in a cohort taking two courses every eight weeks
  • At the end of each eight-week session, a certification exam will be administered giving the student the opportunity to earn an industry-recognized certification.

Students must meet ONE of the following prerequisites in order to apply for this pilot certificate program:

  • Testing into MAT 171 or
  • B or greater in MAT 121 or
  • ACT WorkKeys (NCRC) scores of 4 in Reading, 5 in Locating Information and 5 in Applied Mathematics.

Space is limited. Grant funding may be available for those who qualify.
