After you have successfully completed the PHE 118 course, you may use the fitness center as long as you are a registered part-time or full-time student here at SCC. If you are a returning student and had completed the coursework earlier, you may use the fitness center again as your status is reinstated. Due to the lapse in time, if you feel you need a "refresher," any of the staff will be glad to help you with instructions.
To use the fitness center, students need to enroll in PHE 118. The sections are offered every eight weeks year around. The class awards one credit hour and if completed with a "C" or better, the right to use the fitness center during open hours. Since the center is first and foremost a classroom, there is no admittance during class times. Please check the schedule or call us at 636-922-8219 for the current open times.
The DHSS (Department of Health and Senior Services) background check screens for the following state records: criminal history, sex offender registry, child abuse/neglect records, employee disqualification registry, child-care facility licensing records, and foster parent licensing records.
Students enrolled in the following classes are required to have a background check.
Students enrolled in these classes are required to observe classes in K-12 schools. School districts require that anyone working directly with children have a background check before entering the school.
