22nd annual area high school math tournament results

In partnership with MathLeague.org, St. Charles Community College hosted the 22nd annual area high school math tournament 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2.

The event brought 12 area high schools and 50 students to SCC’s campus. The tournament was open to any student in grades 9-12.

The results for the tournament are as follows:

Ninth grade finalists: Target Round

  • First place: Maggie Lin of Rock Bridge High School
  • Second place: Merrick Zheng of Lafayette High School
  • Third place: Ahkil Elangoven of Rock Bridge High School
  • Third place: Yiyun Xu of Clayton High School
  • Fifth place: Landy Zhou of Thomas Jefferson School

10th grade finalists: Target Round

  • First place: David Zhang of Thomas Jefferson School
  • First place: Ben Xu of Rock Bridge High School
  • Third place: David Bonstead of Francis Howell Central
  • Fourth place: Anatasia Kroger of Clayton High School
  • Fifth place: Sam Chen of Francis Howell Central

Relay Round: No grade level

Hickman High School won the relay round with team members Weng, Fratila and Edidin.  

Overall winners

  • Third place: Thomas Jefferson School
