SCC to offer new music degree program this fall

Published: 08/15/2017

This fall semester, St. Charles Community College will be offering a new degree program – Associate of Fine Arts (A.F.A.) in music

Students who intend to transfer to a four-year institution in the field of music will be able to first earn an associate degree at SCC that includes all of the core music courses needed as part of their bachelor’s degree. The degree consists of 23 general education credit requirements and 38 music credit requirements for a total of 67 credits.

“This degree will better prepare students for a smooth transfer to a four-year university as a music major in every track, whether it be music education, business, therapy or performance,” said Becky Thorn, assistant professor of music.
