Young People's Theatre to hold open auditions for 'Scrooge!' Sept. 26

Published: 09/21/2015

Auditions are open to ages 8 through 18 and will consist of singing and a cold reading. Auditioners may be asked to do some basic movement, so it is asked that comfortable clothes and shoes be worn. Please prepare 16 to 32 measures of a Broadway rep song, and bring an accompaniment CD or downloaded MP3 player – no a cappella singing. Students must be accompanied by an adult.

Callbacks for some principal roles will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept 27. There is a production fee of $200 per cast member. There will be a mandatory parent meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept 29, for parents of those cast.

Through a wide range of both upbeat and heartfelt songs, the story of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, who learns to change his ways and value the true meaning of Christmas through a series of ghostly visitations, resonates with the whole family and provides the perfect holiday entertainment.

Performance dates are Dec. 18-20. Tickets are available now at stchastickets.com.
